The past five months have been a whirlwind, and if you are like me, you are anxiously anticipating what will come next. We have no idea what’s around the corner, but we do know what we can do together while we wait for this pandemic to pass. At the end of this, we will come back together and continue our journey toward a more inclusive community for our participants.
Until then, our goal is to provide as much support to every participant as we can through in person services and through virtual learning opportunities. We encourage all our participants to stay engaged with us and each other through these opportunities. Right now, our community room is linked to Zoom from 8:30am to 2:30pm every weekday. Participants who remain healthy at home can join their friends in conversation and learning from the convenience of a smart phone, tablet, or computer.
Should we be ordered to close again, a comprehensive virtual learning schedule will be posted on our website, www.hesandefur.com, so all participants can stay engaged with staff and with each other as we travel through these uncertain days.
I have seen friendships grow and relationships strengthen through our virtual classes since we began them in March. We all come together to ask questions, encourage each other, and laugh a little while we wait for normal to return. Participation is how we can stay active during this pandemic. It helps pay our mortgage, our fixed expenses and it helps us keep our staff employed so they can continue to support you. The more participation we have, the more secure our future will be.
I want to personally invite you to join us for virtual learning. We miss you and look forward to your company. Visit www.hesandefur.com and click on the virtual learning link and you will find yourself among your friends at the Sandefur Center, who look forward to talking, learning and laughing with you.
We hope to see you soon!
