Every year I look forward to announcing our holiday schedule, complete with meals together and parties for participants. This year we have to do almost everything differently because of COVID-19.
Due to the rise in COVID cases in our area, we are going to take the entire week of Thanksgiving to rest, clean and get ready for the Christmas season. We will be closed to in-person services from November 23 to November 27, 2020, and will return to in-person services on November 30. During this time (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), we will offer virtual learning via Zoom. Participants may take their chromebooks home if they need them to join in our virtual sessions. Virtual session times will be posted on Facebook and on our website.
If you watch the Governor every day, you know about the Red Zone Counties. When our counties are in the Red Zone, we are supposed to be extra careful to help slow the spread of COVID-19. We will do everything possible to stay open during these weeks with additional cleaning and more emphasis on our current procedures. Our participants have done amazingly well at mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing. Should the Governor require us to close, we will post that information on our website and on Facebook.
Christmas will be quiet this year. We will not have our annual Christmas Dinner at Holy Name. We will remain open the week of Christmas except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We will remain open the week after Christmas except for New Year’s Day.
We are looking forward to the joy that will come with 2021. We hope to find our way back to normal where all of our participants can join us for learning, laughter and growth.
